Out of no where my phone has been making weird noises. It just happened now after I woke up from a nap.

Everything a sound is "made" through my phone a weird click happens. And, when the sound stops it clicks it again.

Let's say I'm pressing the number buttons and hear the tone I heard this weird "click clock" tone" click clock". Same thing happens on everything. The tone when I receive a message, when I start and stop music, etc.

    What is this?!

It's not the trackball noise, is it?

Check Options>Screen/Keyboard. You may have turned on the trackball sounds.

It's not the track ball settings. It was fine right before I used it again. It's like a weird speaker noise. Almost like a blown speaker. But how could that have happened when I wasn't using it?

Dunno. Did you try a battery pull to reset?

Yup, that's what I thought it was at first. Then it booted up with an error so I thought it was that. Rebooted again and the system was fine; but, the phone was still making the noise.

What error? Have you made any changes at all recently?

No, I didn't change anything. Like I said: It was fine before I Fell asleep and I woke up mysteriously to it.

Here is a video of the sound. You can see the first two button clicks I make don't make any sound. It's only when a sound is played through the speaker. (Even before and after music and text message tones, etc)

Appears to be hardware. You can either get with AT&T about a warranty replacement, or try and fix yourself. I would go the warranty route.

What could have caused that to happen?

Might just be the contact tabs behind the speaker. They can get compressed. Not a hard fix, you just bend them up, but it will void the warranty to try because you have to take the phone apart. And I could be totally wrong about the hardware issue, too.

It's really weird. It's like only when the speaker engages. I can play music through it and there is no issue. I only hear when I switch songs.

    This is odd.

Just called ATT and told them what the problem was. They are sending me a new one. I just have to send this one to them or I get charged 499 L O L!

I love how they diagnose every problem. "Sir, can you please remove the battery, replace it, and reboot the phone to see if they problem persists to occur"

As you hear in the background from another rep: "Mam, can you please remove the battery...."

They must have a camera on me following me around all day.
