Does anybody know what codec my voicemail server should be saving .wav files in so that the voicemails can be listened to as email attachments? As of right now we can't listen to .wav email attachments.
thanks

Great question. My work VM sends messages to my email as wave files. Would like to be able to listen to them on my phone too.
Look forward to the solution to this one.

Search online for a converter and convert them to whatever format the Bold uses. See if the media portion of desktop manager will convert it when you select optimize when you transfer files

That's what I am trying to find out, which format(codec) is the Bold able to open?
Just convert it to an MP3 file. We know the Bold plays those : ).

Preloaded ringtones are .m4a.rem. Go with mp3. A simple easy to use and very well known format

Found out it is actually a problem with my BES server (v 4.0.7). When forwarding an email from outlook to gmail and then trying to open that .wav attachment on the Bold, it opens with no issue. I am working with RIM server support now and will post a fix when they have one.
RIM has great support (once you get to the right person). I didn't have Windows Media Player installed on the BES server and it needed some dll's. I also didn't have .wav in the format extensions box in the connector configuration. After that rebooted BES and sent service books to all devices.
Great info. Thanks for the update. Will have to find out the issue with mine.

I am having the exact same issue at work. We get sent .wav email attachments and they can not be played on our BB phones.
Thinking it is a simple ocnfiguration or codec setting on the BES, but no idea where to go with it from here.
