Is it possible to take the trackball out to was it without taking apart my Bold? I saw the sticky where you can do it on the curve, but I just wanted to make sure about that with my Bold.

no way.....on the old curve you could just pop out the trackball, take it apart and give it a good clean. On the bold you have to take the phone apart, remove the chrome covering plate and then youll get to the trackball. Not that tricky if your happy taking the phone apart

Just be reminded taking the phone apart will definitely make the warranty void ..

I just put some 91% on a paper towel and wipe it down, they dry it off with my t shirt or the dry part of the paper towel.

Whatever you do, don't take it apart.

    It's not worth the hassle.

If your device actually has problems with the trackball to the point it needs to be cleaned you might be able to just get a free one because it's definitely under manufactures warranty. Take it to a store, if they think you need a new one then they give you a number, call, and they should send you a brand new one and you send them your old one back.

i just did this the other day, my volume keys stopped working, so i called and they sent me a new one for free, called on Thursday or Friday and received a new one on Tuesday. Just make sure you actually send it back or they will charge you 499.99 for it lol.

I was mine on a gentle cycle with warm water , gain soap and no fabric softener , i tumble dry on a high heat

LOL , When i got my replacement bold for a trackball that wouldn't roll he suggested i use canned air on it . I'm kinda unsure about it though .
Would that work using rubbing alcohol and canned air ?
