I recorded a couple videos. They were low action (just a couple kids playing) and it was bright and sunny. The quality is not great. They are quite pixelated/blocky.

The video app is configured as:
    Video Light: Off
    Color Effect: Normal
    Video Format: Normal (480 x 320)
Bold is from Rogers with original OS

The sample videos look great. Youtube videos are also pixelated/blocks.

What experience have others had with the video recording and playback quality?

your right in terms of video playback, the quality isn't the greatest *referencing recorded videos*, my guess is the quality and color temperature will be addressed in future releases of the firmware hopefully soon.

I have noticed that recording in low light or dark conditions is horrible even with the light activated, again this should be addressed real soon.

If you download and convert make sure your bitrate is set fairly high to minimize grain and pixelated video.

Yeah the video playback on recorded video's is not the greatest, but that's what a digital camera is for. I definitely did not buy the bold for the use of the video camera on it.
