Don't forget 512 MB Ram, and Open GL Support... The only thing the 9700 has better is processor. Both have trackpad, wifi, same camera. 9700 has a faster processor, 9650 has more memory and open gl... They had to call the 9650 Bold once they doubled the memory, b/c it is now the flagship device.
For those of us who have use or use the Tour..it is the same thing with a trackpad...too bad it took 6 months too many to launch it.
Why was this thing pulled back again? Sorry RIM, this is a joke at this point.
dude, stop your complaining.... the Bold 9650 is a lot more phone then the Tour is and even the 9700. Double the memory, Open Gl....does the 9700 have that? No.

It looks ok- but the 9650 is NOT a huge step forward for RIM, maybe for someone coming from a 8310 but a more expirienced BB user can clearly see that RIM is feeding you specs that should have been standard in most all Blackberries.
I agree with Steve...the game has changed RIM...people are eating your market share and you come up with this? This is not a huge step forward, and perhaps they have also picked the worse quarter of the year to launch it. (Iphone, Droids, EXO, etc. are all due on within this quarter)
Y'all are high maintenance. If you don't like a product move on.
I for one, do not agree with that statement. I just want a headache free device...I do not want bad trackballs, or a poorly designed battery door, or a phone that needs a battery pull once a week.
Maybe so drchipinski, perhaps you could could hold them liable by buying from someone else next time. That way you wouldn't be driven to post multiple statements about how sad you are with your current phone. I think we all understand you are not happy with your phone now. You have every right to continue obviously but I don't think RIM is hearing you on this particular forum.
Yes, the 9650 has double the ram of the 9700, same screen and trackpad, has wifi, supports OpenGL, is OS 6 ready. All that is true, but to those who are saying that the 9700 has a faster processor, we don't know this yet. They might have changed the QualComm processor from the 9630 to the 9650 when they added OpenGL support, so who knows, perhaps the 9650 will have a faster processor too.
It's already going to be the flagship device even if it doesn't get a MHz upgrade, but if it does, this will silence the naysayers.
Remember, GSM devices need a faster processor by nature to meet the demands of GSM, but this doesn't necessarily translate to faster speed when compared to a slightly slower MHz CDMA device.
It will be interesting to see once the processor specs are released for the 9650.
And no, I'm not playing Tour fanboy here. I'm most likely going to switch to a Storm 3 when and if it comes out.

RIM could care less what I think....but what Apple and HTC are doing speaks pretty loud toward RIM.
