Ready to make the switch from AT&T to Verizon tomorrow morning and pickup a 9930. I am still under contract with AT&T with my ETF being $70. Can I secure a new number with Verizon tomorrow, try the phone and service and if I'm happy then port my current number over to Verizon. I figure this is easier than canceling At&t first.

What i have done was port my original number over to the new provider. Then suspended my old provider line for the 15-30 days. I didn't like the new provider so I ported my number back to the original, reinstated my plan and there you have it. No etf to pay.
