I have had both versions and they both worked very well.. Im running rogers .282 currently and love it. Everything about it responds instantly.. over 53MB free memory with a few of my apps installed.. pics load almost instantly... no complaints thus far.
.266 is the best in my opinion, in particular memory management it awesome.
the only reason I have .282 is so that I can Switch from 2G to 3G on AT&T. .282 is a good build but I have to keep an eye on my memory so that it doesn't get too low. I have the slow pic loading issue also....no big deal.
has not been all that great for me so far .. pics load slowly and call signal not so good, other things not bad .. but in my experiences this is not the bset os build seems un finished.

I have .167 on mine is there major differences ? I have the option to download .217 right now ? What am I missing out on and is it signifagent ? I try to keep everything on my memory card seeing I bought a 16gb. IDK if I will lose all my apps if I get the new OS though.
I agree with laollis my battery has seen a lot of improvement since switching to .282, definitely isn't as snappy as .262 though. To me it seems like pictures as well as any other application or window is slower to open and close. The 2G option is great too

282 is running great for me. Better memory management over 266 and switching to EDGE when I want to is great. Pictures take a tad longer to load but no biggie. I'd go 282.

I am not that crazy about OS updates since most of the times ppl cant report back on what improved or not with the new update. I am running the .266 now and i am pretty happy with it.
I am reading that ppl are not upgrading to the .282 but they are sticking to the .266 and wait for the official release of the V5 OS. I am one of those ppl.
A week ago my bb hung about 3 times on the same night. Had to do the battery pull. It was a very hot day/night. I dont know if it was because of that since my bb is pretty clean from files and apps. I must add that i can count on one hand how many times my bold hung since i got it and i have it since Dec 08.
Does someone know if the temp rises if it can affect the function of the Bold?

I run Quickpull Pro and have it reboot if memory drops below 14K. I do think .266 did a better job with memory and it certainly loaded thumbnails faster. At this point, it isn't really worth the bother to downgrade though. I'll sit tight until the whole 5.0/Facebook issue is resolved and then upgrade from there.
I am running .282.. It is okay, but the issue I have it drops the BB logo next to 3G sometimes. This causes me to loose my BB data so I can not access the internet or send emails.. The pics load slower than the .266 OS. I am thinking about reverting back, but I might upgrade to the 5.0 to check that OS out...
And guess what! My Bold is lighter now!
