Is it possible to use switch my carrier from Rogers to Windmobile with my bold 9000?

Wind Mobile sells the 9700 bold but not the 9000 series. Rogers phone plan is killing me.

Unless you have a contract with Rogers, I see no reason why you couldn't switch to Wind Mobile. Be aware though that you won't be able to have 3G connectivity with your Bold 9000.

wind has a different 3G band the rogers an bellus. you would end up on the rogers edge network. if you want to go to wind you have to buy a phone from them or maybe try pickin up a T-mo phone of ebay

The 9000 supports the same frequencies as the 9700 guys, except for the 1700 which WIND runs on, same as T-Mobile. The 9700 has 1700 while the 9000 does not, so it won't work on 3g

As said above 3G won't work on wind because bold 9000 uses 850 for the frequency and wind uses 1700

ok. this is bad news. Does Wind Mobile have faster 3G than Rogers?
According to the 9700 specs, it runs at 1700.

1700 is a ''channel'', not a download speed.

Both can download at 7.2Mbit/sec(theory, the reallity is lower)

edit: 3G HSPA is the same for all; Rogers/Telus/Bell/AT&T/Wind/etc... all the same speed but not always the same frequency

If I switch to the bold 9700, would my seido 3500mAH batter fit in it ?

I am concerned that the keyboard of 9700 seem a bit smaller than the bold 9000.

Does anyone have difficulty using the 9700 keyboard compare to 9000?

Bold 9000 and Bold 9700 use physically the same battery, in theory it would work, but there is one issue with your Seidio extended battery: the battery cover won't fit the Bold 9700.

The keyboard on the Bold 9700 is very similar to the Tour 9630, so if you ever had the chance to try out the Tour you would have some idea of how the keyboard feels like.

It's a personal opinion thing, some like the smaller keyboard, some can't live without the bigger keyboard... you must try out both and see what you like better.
