I heard someone saying that you can no longer install any OS from another carrier by simply deleting the Vendor file?
Is this true? is there another trick that needs to be done?
Or was that just a case of user error and the process is the same?

Oh good to know I was hoping the process didn't change and I certainly found it weird as it has always been the same for all the BlackBerrys
So even if one would wipe his device completely, then install a new OS and delete the Vendor file, that's it right?

Technically you don't even need to do the wipe first.

Lol, it's a losing battle
There ARE two vendor.xml files in some of the newer OSes too.
