Depends where you get it from. Amazon.com has them at $149 after rebate.

Just went to an ATT store... they told me $400 purchase with a $100 mail in rebate. I asked if there was any other options and got turned down. So I walked away.

    Are the amazon phones refurb'd?

I ended up paying 400 the day I bought it - my rep wasn't in.
There was no manager to override the regular pricing. So, I went in the next day, and the manager gave me a bill credit of 100.
I had to fight to get it.

Check out wirefly.com or letstalk.com. One of them is 199 upgrade after rebate and the other is 149 upgrade after rebate. Or go to Best Buy and pay 299 out the door - no rebate.

Through AT&T, I had the option to upgrade, looked at the BOLD (originally $399) and saw that it had a $100 MIR (down to $299), I decided to get it and when I added the Unlimited Data plan, the advertisement for the $100 MIR went away, but there was a $170 discount for getting the data plan.

But then I started to think and took a look at the $100 MIR. On the MIR, it states that for the BOLD you must get at least the $35 Data Plan...

So they stopped showing the MIR and gave me $170 off for getting the Data Plan, but the MIR is still good and I ended up getting a brand new BOLD for $129.

It felt like I did something wrong...

The store price matched the online price. $299 and they knocked off the "mail in rebate" instantaneously.

I also got a BT headset.

Usually the Company stores do not honor their own company on-line price; if so, take the on-line offer with free shipping and get it in a couple of days.

There have been many postings recently since the referbs became available from ATT. The general feeling is (1) the referbs come with warranty that may be different from the new warranty length, and (2) there is nothing wrong with the referbs, and (3) there might not be too much of a price difference between the new and referb.

From experience on this forum when something goes wrong with the referb or new you will usually have the problem early in the ownership and can get an exchange. Typical problems: bad keyboard with a stuck key, and rarely software problems.

My Bold was given to me by the Wounded Warrior Foundation to help me get through college. They pay for the insurance and monthly data plan plus 200 text messages.

But if I hadn't gotten it for free I would have maxed out one of my cards to get one, even of I had to pay $399.

If you are a part of E-trade, you can get the bold for $99

I can't post the link because I am a newbie. Google "blackberry bold Etrade"

I don't know if it would work for uprades

I sell phones for a living and we have the Bold for $399 on an upgrade right now. It varies from week to week so i would just check and shop around when your upgrade is due.

You did do something wrong. You stole from a company. Someone who was honest would have given the MIR back to them. Stuff such as what you did makes phone/product/etc prices higher for everyone else.

I'm getting ready to check out now on the ATT website on a refurb Bold. I bought a refurb Pearl from them a year and a half ago and the phone still works great, so I'm not worried about it being a refurb.

Refurb price with 2 year contract is 250, then you can enter in a promotional code that you can find by googling and it knocked it down to 200. So if you got a brand new one it would be 250 with the 2 yr.
