- Hey everyone! So today my iPhone 4 died... it overheated and its apparently its been serviced by someone who is unauthorized long story short I need a new phone.
I've been looking really at the blackberry bold 9900... and it looks really really good. I've seen the reviews and everyones saying its a really good phone. Now I had a blackberry 9800 before I got my iPhone 4. It just wasn't was I was looking for it was slow and sluggish. Would this been the same with the 9900?
So people give me some feedback on how YOU like your 9900!
PS. do all bolds have the light up trackpads or just some models?
Thanks so much!09-08-11 06:25 PMLike 0 - Congrats on considering on coming back to Blackberry. First I will answer your question. Yes all 9900's have the light up track pad. The 9810's do NOT have light up track pads and the 9860/9850's have light up track pads.
The new OS on RIM's new Blackberry's, OS7, is very quick and snappy. Programs open and load quick and the dreaded "spinning clock" is almost non existent on these new phones.
I have tried the iPhone 4 and personally like the new Blackberry's better by a far margin. The 9900, which your looking at, is one nice piece of kit! Even though I have tried all of the new OS phones and personally chose the 9860 as the phone for me, I have no problem recommending the 9900.
I think you should try one in the stores to get a proper feel for the device and to see if it meets your expectations. If you have any other questions feel free to ask! Take Care!shifrerm likes this.09-08-11 06:41 PMLike 1 - The 9900 is a million times better than the 9800.
It's fast, slim, has an awesome keyboard which coupled with the touch screen is a dream to use and is by far the best BB out there.
This is the first Bold to sport the illuminated trackpad, and in my opinion, is a small, but very good addition to the phone.
GET IT!!

- Yes, the 9800 and 9900 are night and day difference. The 9900 is the best Blackberry with a keyboard, period. As mentioned, fast, quick, responsive, and no more battery pulls. Hahaha09-08-11 06:47 PMLike 0

The Bold 9900 is my first Black Berry (coming from an iPhone 4 myself, also had the 3g / 3gs). I've had it a week. Hands down it's better for texting and calls, and the OS ain't bad either. Very snappy. The browser is okay, but I miss the iPhone 4 browser and screen size / resolution. Fortunately I'm looking to do less browsing on my hand sets so I don't mind this so much. If your an apps / games person you'll obviously miss that a lot as well compared to the iPhone, though so far most of my utility or service apps I used on the iphone are available and work alright on the Bold. OH, and it may be minor, but the iPhone calculator kicks the **** out of the Bold's, seriously (but that's probably not important to many)09-08-11 06:56 PMLike 0 - Hey thanks so much for the reply! I think I will do just that, and thank god if i had a penny for every time I saw that clock I'd be rich LOL. But yeah I really like the 9900 I've used a dummy model but even those are so locked down you really can't get a feel for how it feels in the hand and stuff, you know what I mean?09-08-11 08:01 PMLike 0
- Don't forget that the 9810 is night and day compared to the 9800 from a speed stand point. Although there is something about the Bold that pulls you in. I have the 9810 and for some reason I am still pondering the 9900 as I have a bit of time still to make the switch.09-08-11 08:23 PMLike 0
