Hello all!

Yesterday I picked up a brand new unlocked 9790 from CEX in the UK. Now I want to update it from software version 7.0 to 7.1 because of the tether feature. Here is my problem:

Over-the-air: I cant seem to find the button names "software update" in the device menu.
Using desktop program: It says there is no update for my device. If I click on "other versions", it has the 7.1 update there and if i click on it it says the update "is only available to users with an active BlackBerry subscription. "

Can you guys in the forums help me?

Here's how you can get 7.1 on your phone.

First, here is the latest OS for your device.

Where it tells you to delete the vender file, you will need to delete two of them. Assuming you are using a PC you can find them here (one is a hidden file).

C:\Users\*user name*\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
