I miss my lock key so much. I had the side left key also lock the phone when it was pressed. Why would RIMM do this? Now we have couple of keys that are being wasted.

We now have 2 buttons that do exactly what they were always intended to do
the Lock button locks the keypad... the Mute button mutes in a call
I'll explain: in 5.0.0.5XX+ OS, lock and mute buttons are the same. If you want to put the phone in standby mode, you press the lock button. If you what to lock your phone, YOU CANT, just put it in stand by mode, do the same job. Mute button is only to mute call/pause music. Owner info screen is gone too(exept if you use a password).
That's the new way to lock your device on new RIM OS. You'll need to live with it or stay with older OS.
Personnaly I love the new way to lock the phone. Shut down the screen automaticly

just because you dont need to have two way to lock your phone.
I like the *new* setup... I find the buttons are working how they should have in the first place... but i use the holster so either way, it really doesn't bother me... i do like the mute button pausing the music though (not sure if it was like that pre .5XX)... that feature alone is worth it to me... and yes, the instant sleep is better imo now
The problem I'm having is that the phone now unlocks in my pocket, something that never happened in my .330 days. As such, I like the old way better, but I just started using my hoster, and that provides me with additional protection as well.

The pause is old school, it worked on my Curve 8320. Also, hold volume up or down for about a second and it will jump the track to the next / previous.
