On the bold, bbmaps is being blocked by a service book. Which means, as long as you are on at&t's network, no bbmaps for you. I ran with service books from an old update, but it just got annoying after a while, and became mute when BIS updates finally roll out.
Actually, you can use it on AT&T. I use it all the time. Set yourself up as a contact in BBMessenger, then do a Send My Location to yourself. When it arrives click on the map and BBMaps is open and fully funtional. But you cannot access it using an icon. There is also a cool, free program called SignalLoc which utilizes BBMaps. You can also access it using that.

How do I get bbmaps on my phone? I am not sure what is meant by unlocked/unbranded, my phone has been subsidy unlocked and I have installed .282 and deleted the Vendor.xml file, so should I have bbmaps?
