Hey guys, i went from iphone to berries to android now back to berry until the 9900 comes out. Couple of questions, im getting a unlocked 9780 from Rogers to bring down and make it run on AT&T( I know tmobile ones wont work with the 3G frequencies), now my question is will google maps work with the unlocked version of my phone since its from another country etc? Are there any other restrictions or things i should know before i commit? Thank you!!

I use an unlocked 9700 of ATT USA in India and Google maps works ( shows India and not USA :-)). Go ahead, there should be no issue for Google Maps.

As long as you have a BlackBerry plan (BIS) all should work...

Check carrier frequencies if you want 3G to work.

What about telus blackberry? I think they have the same 3G bands as AT&T but I'm not sure.

Google maps have nothing to do with wireless carriers
    ......
Gmaps just tries to steal our location (poor/ no gps) with help of wireless carriers.
