    I am currently using an unlocked BlackBerry 9000 (Bold) and I want to upgrade the software on my device. If I do this upgrade will this process lock my phone again?

    No, it will not. It's actually not so easy to relock the phone to a carrier, so do not worry about it. I promise you won't do it on accident.

    It would be too easy.....

    You can upgrade, it will be fine. Of course you could always brick it so it wouldn't matter. Read the instructions over and over THEN upgrade it.
