I just contacted T-mobile to switch my unlocked Verizon Bold 9650 to a T-mobile plan. Unfortunately, I was told by the representative that an unlocked CDMA/GSM phone will only work on GSM towers internationally, outside of the US, not in America where CDMA towers are present. Is this true?

    Thanks

This should not be the case. GSM runs in America just as well. My dad's unlocked BlackBerry 9700 from India ran T-Mobile's GSM perfectly.

    OK, thanks guys.
I'll see how everything works out.
I forgot to mention that I'm using a prepaid unlimited plan. I don't know if that changes anything.

Your phone will work fine on T-Mobile. If T-Mobile doesn't accept, just go to At&t
