UMTS is divided into upstream feq and downstream freq - that's why you'll often see it as 1900/2100 - the 1900 is upstream and the 2100 is downstream. Currently the Bold chipset supports the 1900/2100 (850) is also onboard, however T-Mobile only got 1700mhz in the spectrum acution that the FCC held, so T-Mobile is going to be on 1700/2100 - - so short answer is that the current version of the Bold is incompatible with T-Mobile (USA) 3g system. Going to have to wait for a Bold coming down the pipeline with a chipset made for 1700/2100 - - looks like that isn't going to happen till sometime in 2009.
