If I remember correctly, the 9930 is a world phone.
It has a SIM card slot (usually for international use) so you could unlock it and use it on AT&T/T-Mobile but you would only get EDGE.

Firstly, look at the forum even people in Canada are having a hard time getting the device. The stores are not selling Rogers devices without a contract. Plus you are forgetting the high sales tax upto 13% in some areas. That plus the hassle of travelling up, airfare or gas etc.

Good luck getting one at $600. I'd buy 5 from you at that price in Manhattan right now.
