    I am unable to use whatsapp over wi-fi w/o data plan on my BB BOLD 9780 (Browser still working).

    I recently de-activated my BIS plan as i have access to wi-fi at Home and work most of the time .

    Problem is i can access the browser but cannot use Whatsapp over wi-fi w/o data plan. The EDGE symbol on the right hand side of the screen is showing in small-case as 'edge'. My data-services are 'ON' and my wi-fi is connected perfect 100%.

    I am not sure of any IT policy .I tried disabling my APN settings (Doesnt work) .

    I'm from INDIA and my carrier is AIRTEL.

    Please help people!

    I think you need a data plan of some sort.

    Why would i want to pay for a data-plan when i can use internet over wi-fi like 18 hours a day ?
