transferring music from sd card--protected??
I have a Bold and have not had any real issues.
I decided to trade out the 2gb card to an 8gb card. I plugged the phone into the computer and put the new card in the adaptor and then plugged my phone into my computer. I opened and saw all the files, and transferred them without issue. All the music that I'd imported via CD into my phone went without a hitch.
The only problem I have found is that all of the songs that I actually purchased from VCast music are somehow 'protected content' and even though I've paid for them, I can't transfer them to the new memory card!
I have repeatedly tried to transfer the songs to Rhapsody, which doesn't work. (Personally I don't like rhapsody but I have it in case I need it).
I then took all the songs from the original sd card which I'd saved on my computer, and imported them into iTunes, thinking maybe I could find a way to transfer the protected songs that way. No go. iTunes can't convert/recognize them. On top of that, I can't figure out how to transfer songs from iTunes anyway. My kids have droid and use 'double twist' but there isn't anything called that for blackberry as far as I have found.
Next I used the blackberry desktop manager. It synced my phone, although I don't know exactly what that means. I couldn't transfer the music that way either.
All of my music transferred to my phone the first time, except for the music that I bought and paid for. When I try to play those songs, I get a message that says to re-sync or re-purchase. The message flies by fast.
Does anyone have any idea how I can get those songs into my phone? Its not as if I dl'd them illegal, I actually paid for them. If I'd done it illegally I'd probably not be having this issue. Talk about a catch-22!
Thanks in advance. I am terrified of having to call verizon support, and hopeful to find the answers here! :)
