Trackball not sensitive.
I've used my BB9000 for over a year now, and recently the trackball is giving me some issues. At times I can't scroll, and sometimes it works. I'm quite reluctant to buy a new phone because of this... Is there anything I can do? I don't think its covered by the warranty anymore.

Clean it thoroughly with an alcohol pad

It's quiet annoying i know as i am now waiting for a new track ball as fed up but in the meantime to scroll down i use a piece of paper and rub the trackball in all directions which had cured it for short periods of time but has become a complete nuisance to do. Then again i have not had these problems for over 2 years :)

I've replaced mine, I've also fixed it by taking phone apart and removing trapped lint in the trackball assembly.
A quick fix that'll sometimes work quite well is lay down a flat magazine, place a piece of letter sized printer paper on top of magazine, then phone face down on the paper and push down lightly while moving phone back and forth, up and down, around and around...
Here's another discussion I've seen on this subject as well...

Okies, Trackball arrived this morning (opted for a red 1 as white gets too dirty very quickly). Once dismantled there was way too much dirt on contacts where the trackball goes even underneath the actual trackball. A very good clean should do but I simply used the tool piece to lightly remove all the dirt from contact areas. Now everything is back to normal ;)

Once a well I open my BB and take out the hole trackball part.
Then clean the 4 plastic parts with the magnet thing.
I clean it with normal dish wash soap.
I do the same with the little ball. Make sure you dry them very good. After that I put the 4 little plastic parts back the same I took them out and place back the ball. Then with a ear tip I clean carefully the yellow push switch in the middle of my bb board and place back the hole trackball square part.
Put back his tap and my trackball is as new.
If you do this with a lot of care and take your time it's easy to do.

If after cleaning you still get this problem then get a new trackball.
