Not a free game but good try ... downloadable maps for the game will be free however and it will be very reasonably priced.

I assume the maps are a download once and it stores it on the phone?

I just don't want a scenario like guitar hero where it has to re-download every time, because that's problematic and annoying.

Wow, I didn't know Guitar Hero would do that. You will only need to download maps once, and only the ones that you want.

Yeah for some stupid reason, it downloads it off the server per song per load... Seriously annoying.
