Try a battery pull. I could send a total of 9-10 in a row on telus mobility.
If a battery pull doesn't work, just send it individually to each person. You could try IM+ or CrunchSMS

Brian is correct, the max is 10 sms recipients.
Any more than that and you will need a 3rd party app.
And the mass sms programs I've seen on app world for around $20

Ya kinda a bummer. old 5.0 OS ofr 9650 allowed unlimited amount of users. Now I am locked to 10 with OS6:(
Did not know that Yester, nice find.
Will come in handy when VZW pushes OS6 to everyone and the boards get rolled.

OK, from the TECHNICAL end, there is no hard set limit to the number of SMS recipients a message can handle.
Most phone manufactures set a limit of 10 contacts on the compose SMS field because the carriers ask them to. This limits the burst of traffic from one phone to the SMS gateway. (Instead of them spending money and updating the system.)
The work around to get past 10 is to create a contact list with all the people you want in it and send to that list. WARNING: Anything over about 50 can get you a nasty phone call from your carrier.
However, this has NOTHING to do with the OP's problem.
@beejaygee Can you send to 2 or 3 at a time? or do they only go through when you send 1 at a time?
It's possible that you are doing nothing wrong but that your carrier has blocked SMS messages to more than X# of recipients. I would recommend that you contact your carrier to see if they have a hard limit.
nope. Already had a group with about 28 people in it to SMS. And no luck on sending a message out.
Says something along the lines of "Limited to 10 recipients"
Wrong!
On OS5 you can send 100+ SMS I used to send 124 at one go!
On OS6 you can send 100 SMS not more than that!
All you have to do is create a group and send sms..
Procedure of creating a group:
- Goto address book application press the menu button again. Scroll to "New group" and select.
- Title your group and then scroll down to the area that says * No Addresses *.
- Press the menu key again and select "Add Member."
- Once all members have been added press the menu button again and select "save group."
- A nice feature of the blackberry is that you can organize all of your contacts into groups.
- Now Goto contacts again and select the group you created and click the menu key and select text group(Group's name will be there)
Interesting on your 6.0 version vs mine as it will not allow for it to happen..
Something is up.. lol
They've hard coded it in there then. Probably at the carriers request.
The carriers just don't want to update the equipment at the customer end to handle large blasts of SMS from a single wireless user. It's not like they are MILKING us and ripping us off for what costs them practically NOTHING to send.
Regardless, the OP hasn't said if they are on OS5 or OS6. They are not getting an error, the messages are just not going through. I'm still thinking their problem is a cap in the wireless carriers network.
Could be a CDMA vs GSM/HSPA+ thing.
Kind of the like the 160 text limit....

Very well could be. John is on a 9650, CDMA. I really hate how CDMA does long messages.
I have friends on Sprint/Verizon/MetroPCS that send me long messages and I get them all out of order... like part 3, then part 1, then an hour later part 2!!!
But, regardless, this is taking us away from the OP's problem. I'd hate to have to get a MOD ;) in here to get us back on track.... Oh, wait... Hi John! LoL :D
Yeah I think its 10 for sms but if your friends have bbm I think you can send a broadcast message to all your contacts.

Yes with bbm you can do a mass broadcast

I only tried to send to 4 people.
None of them have received the message.
I can send single SMS messages no problem.
/\ What is your carrier?
Anyone ever fix this?
No, it's the carrier that limits it. Cannot be fixed. Also, a three year old thread, but better than making another one. :)
Do you really think that is the issue though? Why on OS 5.0 on the bold 9650 does it work?
Because the carrier's demanded changes so that there would be a limit.
The irony is this, after 30+ hours of being on the phone with rim and Verizon they still each blame each other and refuse to admit that this functionality was taken away.
Also SPrint on the 9930 caps it at 150
Verizon caps it at 10
I wonder if the issue is in the host routing table. If you could edit this somehow I feel you could get around the limit.
