Thought it is necessary to give respect where respect is due. I've owned and still use the Iphone 5s and Galaxy Samsung S4. I keep going back to my beloved Bold 9930. Yes the Iphone and Galaxy are faster, yes they have better cameras, and apps...all that jazz. There is something to be said about a device that does everything I need it to do faster and more effecient than anything on the market. At this point I may even be able to type faster on a touch screen but the satisfaciton of 9930's keyboard is unmatched by any phone. Even the OS7 is perfect..again for what I need and do. The home screen is my "hub". Everything is right there for me. The 9930 has survived countless new releases with new features but just has that IT factor for me. Anyone else in the same boat?

Like I wrote in my own post, I just ought a 9900 and I'm very happy. People look at me sideways when I say I just bought a new phone and the pull out a blackberry but they just don't get it. Or want to. The combo of touch and qwerty is outstanding. I fly through tasks even faster than I did on my 9700.
I'm just amazed at how close minded some people are when it comes to devices. I guess that's why we're inundated with ads all the time. They really do work to make up people's minds for them!

That is a great point Nocontact..I get looks all the time when I'm on mine. Its like I'm using a Startac. I myself fell for it and tried something else. My new phone will the a 9930 if and when this one ever dies. 3 years going strong like the day I activated it.

    I agree with you !
It's fantastic smartphone but in my country I can't use bbm or email services because of restrictions! But I love it!!
One of the BlackBerry's best phones.
    Enjoy it

I agree David Murray, the look stem from the disbelief that I'm using a legacy device I'd bet. Then again, take a walk anywhere in public and I challenge anyone to find 2 people using a BB. I do it proudly.

The Bold 9900 is the best smartphone i've ever used. I'm immensely more productive on this phone than my previous Bold 9700 (which was good). My work colleagues respect my decision to use a BlackBerry and a few of them are getting a Q10 because they're sick of the gimicky mess that is Android and the moronic wasteland that is iOS.

9900 is a great phone.... except for the poor battery life. Partly the reason for me getting a Q10.

This sums it up perfectly. I'm actually suprised by the amount of my co workers going back to BB from Iphone or Android. Suprised for the fact that it is not the "norm" these days. Everyone is brainwased by the flashy new big thing.

I am in the same boat. I am currently using an iPhone but often switch between it and my 9930. It's an addiction. The keyboard alone is enough reason to put me back on the 9930. It handles my most used tasks the best. Email, phone calls, and SMS.

I just received the BBM 9930 to replace my 9370 Blackberry Curve.
The BBM 9930 is great phone but here is my dilemma, it's too big for small hands! Anyone know of a BBM that has same features or better and is smaller??? I was actually interested in the newly released (2013), BBM 9720, but it is not available in the United States. Also I know there is the 9790 and 9780 models but I am not sure if these are available in the US.
I am contracted with Verizon but will break it if need be. I have carpel tunnel and need something smaller than the BBM 9930 and am looking for newer phones (2012 - 2014) vs older phones. Also, it's a bit irritating that many of these phones are offered under GSM carriers and cannot be used under CDMA carriers which means a VERY limited selection. Can anyone help?
I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

I do not know the availability of the 9790 in the U.S., but you should be able to get it fairly easily off eBay etc. But your reference to the 9930 and CDMA probably means the 9930 is the only choice. I am a 9900 user but also have a 9790, which is almost equivalent to the 9900 in performance, except it is smaller (the same size of 9780). With phones getting bigger and bigger every year (even day!), I actually much appreciated the handy palm sized 9780/9790. I am a life time iPhone user too, but what dragged me into the BB world was the 9700, and I was impressed by its size and utilities. 9790 actually launched a bit later than the 9900.
While people tend to dismiss the 9790 size as too small, but a candy bar type qwerty phone has a small screen, 9900 or not. It does not bother me at all for the pattern of my use (a dedicated messaging device). You watch video or play game on Bolds, do you? :-).

9790 is a surprisingly capable device and fit in a small hand too. There is very little, if any, difference between 9900/9930 and 9790 performance wise.
I hope I was not off the mark in the model you are searching :-).

I tried other including the Q10 and went back to a 9900.
The form facts is fantastic but it won't sync with Apple mavericks.
Blackberry business is business and businesses don't care why something doesnít work
or who's fault it is. If it doesnít work they leave and donít come back.
Dumping all the businesses with OS 7 databases is dumb.
I know a lot of people would buy a updated Bold.
Its not like the new touch screen are flying off the shelf.

Apple removed the "sync" function from Maverick (except of course iCloud sync), which screwed up many things, making Mac users really unhappy. Bad bad Apple! :-). I too struggled with this, and tried many things for the wireless syncing of contacts and calendar. I found a couple of 3rd party sync programs, but eventually settled with the BIS sync via Goggle calendar and contacts after all, which so far is working very well.

Thanks. That’s the solution I’ve cobbled together as well.
Some of my files sync… some on the time.
In most cases I have to email or drag them to the sd card.
The two biggies I miss are the iTunes playlist and notes.
Even so I still prefer my Bold over a phone with the sticky finger interface.

PS- Sherlock used a Blackberry Bold in season 1

At the end of season 2 he switched to a iPhone
and while trying to use the map fell off a building.

Seasons 3 he has a new phone but I don't recognize the brand.

I'm rocking a 9900 and a Z10 (and PlayBook). Each phone has its unique strengths, and the Q10 doesn't quite bridge both for me. I have no idea why anyone with taste would want an iPhone.
