In the messaging app, after I hit send, it sorta freezes up for around 1-2 seconds, then for another 3-5 seconds, it is slowwwww. I just installed .247 again after a wipe, and it still happens! What can I do to fix it?

Just a side note, I'd go from .247 to .266. .266 was more stable for me.

    I'd check your free memory.

How many SMS messages are currently on your phone?

Options>status>hit menu and select database sizes

.266 had that media "skip a song and restart your whole phone" glitch. Unacceptable.

I have around 1516. I have it set to auto delete every 15 days. It also seems that it only freezes when I text one of my contacts... which I have a lot of texts from :/

i have just started having the same problem...but it's not every text. i can send two in a row to the same person and one will freeze up a bit and the next won't. i may try to delete most of my messages (1111 exactly) and see if that helps. (OS = .266)

P.S. i just checked my file free....221132 bytes!!!!!! 0.22 MB, really?!?! how does that happen on .266? the only apps i have running, besides the norm, are berryweather, brickbreaker and bbalerts.

How many messages per conversation do you have it set to display? Go to options, SMS text and check what number of previous items is set to... I noticed if you go over 10, it usually slows it down considerably.

EDIT: I have 1,517 SMS messages in my database and no lag... I would believe it has something to do with what I said above...

It's set to 15. And instead of replying to an existing message, I just created a new SMS. Fixed the lag

it's still weird though, you shouldn't have to create a new message to prevent lag...it should be fine with a reply too. did you ever check your file free memory when it was lagging?

Today I had to empty out messages. I had 4,000 messages and in the database it was 8 megs! OUCH! I cleared out about 3.000, and I didn't have any lag, just less memory! arggg.

I have my phone set up to delete every 30 days, and it doesn't do that... I don't think.... I have very old messages (not saved) from months ago...

My phone only does it when I send a mms. It pauses for about 4 seconds but when I check the outbox the message has already been sent. So I don't really look at it as freezing cause it still sends the message out.
