But why bring it back after all this time? Why not sell the 9780 instead? Why sell either of them when the Bold 9900 will be launching in a month or two?
A refurbished Pearl 3G is free.
A new Bold 9700 is one cent.
A Curve 3G is $30.
Torch and new Pearl 3G are both $50.
Those are some good, realistic prices that AT&T has.
Where as Verizon is over here with:
Refurbished 8530 or Curve 3G for one cent.
A new Curve 3G for $30
A new Bold 9650 with or without camera for $100.
and finally, a new Storm 2 for a grand price of $200.

I'm personally not sure why they didn't go with the 9780 either, but I know the 9700 has been on the Premier website again for quite some time now (weeks, atleast). I'd agree with the inventory reduction sale. Also, probably to get people plugged into a contract to sell more full price 9900s.

There are a hundred different reasons why they may have suddenly found themselves with inventory they need to dump. Maybe someone finally read their contract with RIM and it requires them to accept more 9700s than they thought. Maybe they found some inventory somewhere. Maybe a corporate client canceled a contract that involved a bunch of 9700s. Who knows?
