I wouldn't be surprised to see both AT&T and T-Mobile get their versions of the 9700 series out at roughly the same time,in time for Christmas. The Tour was released for Verizon and Sprint within weeks of each other and that's how I feel this release will go.AT&T first and T-Mobile by Black Friday.

I beg to differ here...While ATT is known for pushing back phones and having faulty bberry releases, they aren't in any means slow. In fact, I think that ATT is one of the most, if not the most, aggressive cell phone company to obtain the newest "It" phones before any other carrier. ATT has always been known to release the best bberrys first (with exclusivity), so I wouldn't underestimate ATT just yet, they might surprise some of us.

However, as a Tmo fan boy, I am rooting for Tmo to release this device before the money hungry ATT does lol! Go Tmo
I thought it had already been said/confirmed that the Driftwood would come out before AT&T's version.

As far as I know and have read, nothing has been confirmed on which carrier(s) will have the 9700 first. I am assuming that whom ever does get the 9700 first will have at least a three month exclusivity, because that seems to be the pattern with these things. Only time will tell.

I'd doubt after reading several forum posts and articles, that the 9700 will have exclusive rights to one carrier. It's going to be on several carriers.

Same here, the sooner the better, I'd much prefer September so I can get it, opening up a new line for my bro and passing on my iPhone.

I'd prefer September too even though I know it's not going to happen. I like the 8700 that I have as a backup device but I really don't want to use when compared to my 8900.

Sell your 8700 and use the money for the 9700.

I payed $30 for my 8700. I'm selling the 8900 before resale values take another huge hit to $250.

While personally I wouldn't sell the 8900, but if you really *need* to, go right on ahead.

The 8900 would be useless as a backup. I'd rather have a Curve 8520 as a backup.
