Apologies if I posted this in the wrong section. Well as you know, if you didn't, Walmart will be selling the 9900 for 119.99 for new activation..

My question is I'm not eligible for an upgrade and I was thinking that I could add a line and buy the 9900 at that price. So if I do decided to that, can I just lower the data plan to a basic phone plan and just use my sim card that I use to my 9700. Is that a possibly to go down that route?

I don't see any sign of such pricing at Walmart. Where?

What you do is get the lowest possible data plan with tmobile for that new line(200MB $10 on a Classic Plan and $5 on a Value Plan) and use your current sim card in the 9900 and just put the new sin card into your 9700. If anythiung you can give that line to someone who needs it or use it as home phone.

I want to use my current sim card in the 9900 AND lower the plan for the line that will come with the new contract to a basic plan. Is this possible?

Yes, it is. On the new line you'll can go as low as 200MB on value or classic plans. As long as it has data. Maybe if you get lucky you'll get an ***** rep that doesnt know much and will let you get away with not having web on the new device. I doubt it but you never know.
