    One step closer, people.

Well the firmware was supposed to be there last week. But PG told me he was told Monday. Either way, yes it's good news especially considering AT&T hasn't received new firmware for the 9900 since it entered field trial..

And the 9900 hasn't had a leak since .353, either. I'm jonesin' for a new OS! Hopefully this means the 9900 will be listed as VVM-compatible in AT&T's system soon. I have had zero luck getting it running properly on my Rogers unlocked 9900.

    Thanks for the update, man!

I'm excited for such news. I have been teetering on the edge of grabbing a 9810 to hold me over until the 9900 came out. But now I'll just stay patient with my 9800. Hopefully a release time table of just a few more weeks.

Rroyy posted: "BlackBerry Bold 9900 OS 7.0.0.450 spotted by browser detection..." On twitter. I have no idea how long that means before it will be seen. I don't know too much about the browser detector really. But it seems they are moving quick with OS versions on the 99xx

P.s. He said that .444 was spotted for the 9930

I would be fine with testing a new leak for the 9930 .

Hope you folks on AT&T get the 9900 soon

good question. cx updated .440 is labeled ffw (final firmware) for att. maybe it will be sooner than later, assuming there isnt some 90 day exclusivity deal with the 9810. i really would like to pick up a 9900 although im afraid i might be too disappointed by the sans autofocus camera.

I *just* re-activated a line that my mom had closed but was still paying for. I will go to AT&T ASAP and get the manager to sign a 2-yr contract and remove the data plan. Wheeee.

I hope your right. I (along with MANY others) have been waiting for this phone what seems like forever. Don't get me wrong, it will be hard to give up my Bold 9000... but I'm ready for a faster processor, more memory, a trackpad, and a touch screen. I'm praying that the official release date is the end of November or earlier. I don't know if I can wait much longer.

Any thoughts on when AT&T will officially annouce the 9900 release date? Mid to late October once the iPhone 4S hype dissipates?

I can't believe I'm saying this, and I hate to be "one of those guys", but I think I've finally reached the point where it's just too late, AT&T. Given the November estimates, I pretty much wrote off the 9900 and forced myself to be okay with the alternatives because between waiting for the 9780 that never came, and then again being forced to wait for the 9900. the less and less I care about having the keyboard and the candybar + touchscreen form factor and all the other pros, and the more I just simply want something new in my hands ASAP. If Apple announces an iPhone 5 instead of a 4S tomorrow, I may very well be gone. I think this is just a side-effect of having had to convince myself I stopped caring about the 9900 in order to cope with the delays.

I don't mean to bring down the optimism in here; I'm glad it's coming sooner than thought! But for me, personally, if it doesn't surface within the next week or two, I think I'm out of here!

    Let's hope for the best!

For me it comes down to which can I get first, the 4S or 9900. I love the keyboard on the 9900 but prefer everything else about the 4S. Also the 9900 needs to cost less than $200 to be compelling.

That is at least a step in the right direction. It would be nice if PG/CX could confirm that the 9900 firmware update was received.. and whether or not it fixed the "issues" that AT&T was experiencing with the 9900. It is October 8th today, approx 5 weeks from the leaked release date, and still nothing 'official' on the release of the Bold 9900..other than "it is coming".
