I would like some help with copying my files from the 9700 to the 9780? I use the Desktop Manager to backup but when I tried to copy the stuff from the 9700 to the 9780 it somehow messed up the OS and some other applications on the 9780 and I had to do a system wipe. Would love someone help on how to do this.

    Thanks,

Are you coming from OS5 or OS6 on the 9700?

If it's OS5, then backup your 9700 with DM and do a 'selective' restore to your 9780. Just select the essentials to restore, like messages/contacts/calendar events, and don't include any other data or settings. You'll then have to manually set up your 9780 to your personal preference.

If it's OS6, then a full restore from the 9700 should be fine.

    Hi Phil,
I had upgraded the OS to 6, thanks I will try that. I appreciate your response.

From desktop manager, select "change device" and follow the on-screen directions. That's what I do whenever I get a new Berry. Transfers everything on the old device to the new device.
