Switching handset from Bold 9700 to Bold 9780 How to....
- I would like some help with copying my files from the 9700 to the 9780? I use the Desktop Manager to backup but when I tried to copy the stuff from the 9700 to the 9780 it somehow messed up the OS and some other applications on the 9780 and I had to do a system wipe. Would love someone help on how to do this.
Thanks,07-27-11 10:29 AMLike 0 - Phill_UKCrackBerry WiseguyAre you coming from OS5 or OS6 on the 9700?
If it's OS5, then backup your 9700 with DM and do a 'selective' restore to your 9780. Just select the essentials to restore, like messages/contacts/calendar events, and don't include any other data or settings. You'll then have to manually set up your 9780 to your personal preference.
If it's OS6, then a full restore from the 9700 should be fine.

I had upgraded the OS to 6, thanks I will try that. I appreciate your response.07-27-11 03:03 PMLike 0 - From desktop manager, select "change device" and follow the on-screen directions. That's what I do whenever I get a new Berry. Transfers everything on the old device to the new device.
