Everyone seems to be talking about how nice it is being able to switch between 2g and 3g in the new .282 software.

Im running .247 and when I go to mobile network options i have the option for network mode and I can select 3g, 2g, or 3g and 2g. How come i can do this on the older OS?

is there any reason not to always have it on 3g?

You can switch because you are in Canada and have a Canadian carrier - though I didn't think Telus had the Bold. Americans on ATT cannot switch unless they use .282.

I have mine set to 3G only and get way better/stabler recption than when I have it on 2G/3G. If you have good 3G reception, keep it on 3G only.

Right, makes sense. Users of Rogers Bolds can always choose 2G only, 3G only or 2G/3G, no matter what the OS. Like I said, my phone works way better on 3G only than any other setting, but I am in a strong 3G area.
