I'm really fedup with this 9650 at this point. got it from the best buy deal that kept going around 1-2 years ago. feels like I have been in total purgatory with this piece of, umm sandwich.... yeah that's a good cover word....
unlike most though who rush to the iphone and other trash pastures, i'm staying in blackberry, going back to my 8330 if sprint will let me, which i'll see after the battery charges up in it.
With the screen screwed up in this 9650 now (not under warranty, don't believe in them, was thinking the 9650 would be like the 8330, hah!) so i'm up the typical creek.
What do I do for a more modern blackberry now? I'm so pissed, if I could I would be tempted to return scam it, as I feel enraged I dropped $200 on something that can't even stay connected to a cell tower for 5 seconds!
I've done it all. battery pulls, praying to mecca, hybrids, non hybrids, had the dali llama personally fly out and bless it, almost tossed it in a bucket of holy water, and still nothing!
No OS update will help the oh so crappy antenna issues these things have! My old curve, I could be anywhere short of standing next to areas of high electrical interference, and I could get rock solid signal. Even fringe parts of the network I would still grab a full signal.
This 9650? pfft. Same areas I used the 8330 in, zilch, zip, nada. I feel like i'm on tmobile, where you have to carefully rivet yourself to the floor and not even move a muscle or twitch your nose, least the signal drops like a rock. Believe me, I've seen it! family members at the same job I had would be swearing at their phone, a curve 8320, while my 8330 in the same area had a full signal!
Now, this little diatribe is leading to me believe it's the crappy wifi trash tacked onto it!
Has blackberry sacrificed the radio antenna quality to offload it onto wifi? seriously. Why is it a 8330 is rock solid, but a 8320 with wifi sucks major wind, and now here I am with a 9650 having the same issues! and it's got wifi!
what do I do for a modern blackberry? I like the open gl and all that with the modern platforms, but I am so sick of the shoddly designed hardware!
I'm also extremely rigid with blackberry as my choice, as the form factor fits well with what I do, and works well with the otter boxes. But, it's to the point I feel let down, even abused by blackberry.
Unlike most who want to skip to the ipod or android horizons, i'll probably just stuck with the 8330 and then drop off the cell network for good when the 4G trash rushes all the cdma phones to the scrap yard, which probably won't be a bad thing...
does the 8330 curve replacement perform like crap? it looks like a smaller version of the 9650, same track pad, but less memory. Probably the same crappy radio problems at this point.
Like i've said, I tried it all. I'm not stupid when it comes to a phone. battery pulls, various os updates, hybrids, all of it. zip, zilch, nada. same trash, different wrapper.
I want to keep the blackberry platform, but i'm feeling more and more that I am better off hanging in until the forced closure of the cdma networks for overpriced 4G, then leaving for good....
Any tips on this issue? I refuse to keep paying over and over for a inferior device that won't work. Maybe I need to pay a visit to waterloo ontario again and throw it through their corporate headquarters windows, that's how pissed I am and feeling ripped off for having faith!
Is there someone in corporate I can contact and raise cane with? I'm not in the mood to waste my time emailing or snail mailing a 10 page letter just to have "thank you for your time, we value your input" yada yada fired back at me
I just want a phone that works properly for my $200. guess I should be lucky I didn't pay full price for it, then I would be 10 times as pissed....
Help!
