    Hello everyone,

I am considering migrating form my HTC Touch Pro to either the Bold 9650 or Storm2 9550. I would be grateful for any feedback as to the pros/cons and thoughts about which unit might be preferable. Thanks ahead of time for anything that you might have time to offer.

Lol..easy answer; Bold 9650..all around better phone hands down. But if you like the touch screen the Storm would be a great phone for you

Thanks denison1g. If I may ask, why will the new Bold be better? I am not being obtuse - well I hope not - I am just totally new to the BB world, so I am trying to learn as much before they are available with my carrier here in Canada.

The 9650 will feature 512mb of onboard RAM and be the only phone that I am almost positive will have no issues getting OS6.

Plus the keyboard and camera are great as well.

That's not RAM! Its ROM. They haven't announced how much RAM the 9550 have.

The Bold 9700 for example has 128MB of RAM and 256MB of ROM(Flash if you will).

    Fairly simple.

I believe the 9550 has 256 RAM. So, one of the advantages people see for the new Bold is it has double the RAM of the Storm2? What about usability? Has anyone used both in respect to interface?

Not many people have used the 9650 due to it not being released yet. It comes out sometimes next month for both Sprint and Verizon, and possibly other CDMA carriers

Fair enough - but others have likely used the Tour or 9700? I am wondering about the form factor differences and such. As well, is it confirmed that OS 6.0 will work on both?

I am in the same predicament. To Storm 2 or to Bold 9650 ... that is the question. Bigger screen size versus half size. And keyboard versus touchscreen.

Still waiting on confirmation if 6.0 will work on 9550 but in all likelihood its unfortunately sounding like it will not. If I were you I would get the 9650 for that fact alone. Storm is fun for a while but there are times when I really miss the physical keyboard.

I have a 9700 and had a Storm1 for a bit and the differences between those two are dramatic, but the Storm2 has come a long way and seems less buggy.

Personally me, I'd rather have the physical keyboard and just about everything else on the 9700...more a preference thing with me though.

The 9650 will be a better phone overall IMO. That is the route I would go.

Just another 2 cents. I'm planning on selling my S2 and either getting the 9650 when it comes out or getting the Incredible.

That is VERY interesting about OS 6.0 and that in itself seems to be a deal breaker - though hasn't RIM said that 6.0 is suppose to cover both form factors?
