- I currently have the iPhone 3G which has been great aside for some of the basic features it's missing (ehem** copy/paste **ehem). I'm currently thinking about switching back to the Blackberry tomorrow for the Bold (I previously had the pearl & curve) but I'm worried that I'll miss the apps I've downloaded, the web browsing experience, iPod features etc. Can someone convince me to switch by giving me some good reasons why I should and why the Bold is a better device than the iPhone (I use it for both work and personal use and am a pretty heavy user). The keyboard is a nonissue for me b/c I'm just as fast and accurate on the iPhone as I was on my curve. Thanks for the help.11-03-08 01:56 PMLike 0
- Honestly the bold browser still blows *** lol... I absolutely hate browsing on a blackberry, even though the bold can load full html sites it still sucks... iPhone browser will not be beaten! I never use the ipod nor watch movies on the iphone so all i use it for is heavy texting and emailing and some calls... The bold has better battery life by a little if that is an issue for you, since the keyboard is not a problem for you then.. it just sounds like you want to go back to a blackberry lol! Bold is a great phone just gets really boringggg... Emailing on a blackberry is king but i have no problems w/ email on my iphone, sorry both phones are pretty much really good LOL good luck choosing!11-03-08 02:06 PMLike 0
- You don't have to jailbreak it to do stuff the iPhone should do out of the box.
- Background processing
- Copy and Paste
- Push e-mail
- Push notifications

- I'm in the same position. I will probably end up with a Bold by the end of the day. Reasons:
1. Insurance.
2. Background applications.
3. Removable storage. Let's you transfer files easily.
4. There are so many losers with iPhones that I don't want to be associated with it.
In the end it's a very tough choice. For me, the physical keyboard was the tie breaker.11-04-08 03:22 PMLike 0 - I had the option a couple of weeks back... I had the original iPhone and loved it, but now I have the bold and really wondered why I hadn't switched a little sooner to Blackberry...
I think the iPhone is awesome for messing around with, especially with some of the crazy apps, but after a couple of weeks you stop messing around and want to use it for texting/email/calling... That's definitely where the Bold excels in my opinion...11-04-08 04:20 PMLike 0 - Im currently looking at the iphone 3g & the blackberry bold. I really want the BOLD but one of the main things im looking for in my next phone is web browsing.
I realise the iphone is out on its own when it comes to web browsing but it also has alot of flaws (for me touch screen). Is the bolds web browser any good without comparing to iphone.
Also im new to BB so im interested in how good the bold is feature wise are the applications available any good (once again the iphones look brilliant) its really just between these 2 phones & i would really appreciate any advice. Thanx.11-04-08 05:02 PMLike 0 -
- Well my main uses for the bold will be web browsing( especially Ebay & youtube), the calender for setting reminders, Email & of course calls & text.
Also its important that i can store alot of contacts with all relevant details (home & Email addresses, additional numbers, etc).

You can store all that information for your contacts on the BB.11-05-08 10:02 AMLike 0 - Here is my $0.02 on the issue.
It pretty much comes down to what your primary function for the device is going to be.
If you want a device that excels at web browsing & multimedia, then the iPhone is the way to go.
If you want a device that excels at text, e-mail, & business functions, then the Blackberry is the way to go (although after a day of using it I can say that the Bold isn't half bad at web browsing and multimedia....but not the same robust experience you get with the iPhone).
I went back and forth the past week or so about which device to go to (I was upgrading from the Tilt, FWIW). The iPhone is nice looking and does what it is meant to do great. In the end, however, I wanted a device with a physical keyboard, expandable memory, and no touch screen....which made the Bold the obvious choice.11-05-08 10:23 AMLike 0
