Seller listed as unlocked. I don't see any branding on phone. The tech details are on the item description. Can someone answer for me what my choices are as far as carrier and/or some sort of prepaid plan? Thanks.

The ones I know for sure carrier wise are: Sprint (my current carrier on 9930), AT&T, and Verizon. I believe T-Mobile as well, but someone has to double check that one. From the best of my knowledge I don't think AT&T offers a prepaid. I don't know about the rest.

The thing is I have a Z10 on AT&T right now. I really don't want to add another line if I don't have to. Just wanted the 9900 for work related stuff and having the physical keyboard at night for chatting, etc.

In order to get proper data speeds on gsm the phone needs to run on 1700 which the 9900 does support. But the 9930 doesn't. Although with the 9930 u would be able to use in on att and tmobile u will only be able to get edge speeds. But if u have att then getting unlocked bold 9900 u should be able to use att and tmobile as well as simple mobile and straight talk(sim card)

Then why did you mention the 9930? Lol
ATT will totally work, TMO may. And if it does, TMO has the best prepaid plans.

I believe you need BIS plan to work on Bold.
You can then switch sim to BB10 device.
( or another smart phone )

A regular data plan won't work with Bold.
