Can you run an emulator on the 9700?

Technically, yes, but it's a logistical nightmare. Because all 3rd-party apps for BB are java-based, you have to compile the emulator with the single rom every time you want to change games.

I looked in to it. I was able to compile the java file with a j2me emulator, but it took up way too much memory, and the controls were atrocious. Also, it was crazy time-consuming for very little payoff.

tl;dr version: Yes, but not really.
