I went to the local TMO store and compared my 9930 with their 9900, loaded my favorite two pig of a site: allthingsd.com and engadget.com. Those would bring the 9780 to its knees every time. Did this multiple times with cache cleared, got random results each time. It was a wash.

I did not test other types of downloads. I wonder how much is BIS a factor in these results.

Anyone else tried this and has something to report?

You may notice a more profound difference in areas with better reception (such as outside the store). I loaded up allthingsd.com on my 9900 in less than 20 seconds (uncached). How long did it take while inside the store?

27 seconds. It's been pretty consistent.

It feels fast enough, though interestingly if I had to wait on a spinning clock for those extra seconds, I'd lose my mind.
