I was able to use shortcut keys like A=Address, L=Calendar, K=Lock, O=options, etc. on my BB 8900 after disabling the "dial from home screen". I found this feature to be very helpful. It looks like 9780 does not have these shortcut keys. Is that possible on 9780? If so, how do I activate it?

    Thanks.

Options>Display>Home Screen Preferences>Select "Application Shortcuts" from Launch by Typing.

Before posting this note, I talked to a T-Mobile tech representative about this shortcut property. After doing some checking in the system, she told me that BB 9780 did not have this "shortcut" feature. I lamost believed in her, but wanted to check with the other BB 9780 users. I am glad I did. Nice to have this forum.

My 9780 used to be able to have shortcuts like o=option, p=phone, m=messages, etc.
Now somehow, it just doesn't exist. Every time I press certain shortcuts, a list of search items pop up. How can i get my shortcuts back?
