The SIM card is never BB specific. Any sim will work if the phone is unlocked. If the phone is locked, then any SIM for that carrier will work. To get the BB features, your service provider simply adds that to your plan (BIS or BES). That's it.

I know if your selling your blackberry you have let your carrier know so they can release the PIN so someone else can use your blackberry.
