I just received a decent condition 9930 from ebay and activated it with Sprint. Everything was cool and then the screen dimmed itself with no input from me and i can't figure out how to get it back to bright. It is not black, I can still use the phone and see the screen. It is just immensely dim.

Stick the phone under a bright light? It has a photo sensitive sensor. Bright light, brightens up the screen and vice versa.

In options, go to screen settings and un-check automatice dim backlight.

Every bb I've ever owned including the playbook the auto dimming setting never does crap. Turn it off and it still happens.
