I recently upgraded from a BB Curve to Bold 9780. ( 3 weeks ago) I find that I have to recharge my battery every 2-3 days. This is weird. cause I only had to charge my curve every 4-5 days. Even with constant texting. This morning I recharged my bold to full and left it charging 2 hours after. This evening my bold has used up 75% of the battery. I am now recharging it again. HELP !! ...

Maybe something to do with the outage and searching for a network?

I agree with kbz1960 about the possible cause of the faster battery drain today.

As for the 9780 needing to be charged more frequently than the 8520, that is because the 9780 is a 3G device, whereas the 8520 is not. 3G uses more battery than 2G (EDGE). So it is normal that the 9780 will need more frequent charging than the 8520.

However, kbz1960 is probably correct about the cause of the battery drain so far this week.

An extended battery would compliment quite nicely. I carry two around with me, just in case.

I charge my battery most every day, but if I forget I can make it close to 3 days if I"m not using it a lot and keep it in its sleeper case

Same here, and that's pretty normal for the Bold 9780's battery.

@spokar, if you recharge every 2 - 3 days then that's a pretty dang good battery life if you're using 3G (and perhaps Wi-Fi at times) and using BlackBerry Messenger which drains the battery; try lowering the brightness of the screen if you're going to be comfortable with that.

By the way, the Curve 8520, as mentioned earlier, has one of the better battery life because it uses EDGE, not 3G, and that's a huge difference maker. However, I find that even the 3G operated Curve 9300 lasts longer than the 9700 and 9780, which means Curves tend to last longer than Bolds.
