OK - get this! Brand spankin' new Bold 9650, only about 2 weeks old. 9 out of 10 times I launch the camera, my BB does a hard reboot.

What does everyone think? Return it?

You could try reloading the OS. Is your media card good? Maybe save the contents to a pc and reformat it.

But if it continues, return is in order.

One more question - name brand sd card? And where did you purchase it? There are supposedly forged cards on ebay/amazon.

Do you have the original card? You could try that, too.

How do you reformat the media card? Do you do it with it in the phone, or do you plug it into your desktop? And when you did it, did it solve the issue.

Yes, formating the media card wipes everything on it so copy the files to your computer before you format

I was having the same issue for a week or so. I wiped my OS and reloaded it. After that, I haven't seen it happen. I'm on Sprint with 5.0.0.699 in case you're wondering. The SD card didn't have anything to do with it, as I'm using the exact same one and I didn't have to format it. I hope this helps.
