Questions about what to get for a Bold
Quick background info, I had a BB Curve(8310) that I didn't have a data plan on. Once the Bold came out, I got it and got the data plan for it. I set it up to do email, slacker streaming music, pretty much just basic stuff. Loved it, stopped using my iPod...well, I broke it last night. lesson learned: hot tub + BB = broken BB
Went to ATT this morning and my new one's on the way. I didn't realize how much I actually do on my BB until I went back to a old-school phone(RAZR V3i). So I want to set-up my new one to take advantage of some of the features I never used before.
1. I'm trading my car in for a new Mazda6s this week, and it has a 3.5mm input and 12V outlet inside of the center console thing. I was just going to get a AUX cable, but now I see that RIM makes the stereo bluetooth gateway. My plan is to get the gateway and hook it up to the input, use a BB car charger to keep the gateway charged so it's all tucked away in the console, then steam audio over bluetooth and play it through AUX setting on the head unit. I'm hoping this all should work, and the sound should be better than something like a iTrip or one of those cassette/3.5mm things, correct?
2. I'm really interested in streaming TV to the phone via a Slingbox. That's pretty much all I know about this one. I have Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD boxes, and they're hooked up to the TVs with HDMI cables. What all would I need to get to watch TV on the phone? And anyone that has already done this, can you change channels and stuff through the phone or are you stuck with whatever channel it's set on?
3. I only had a few free apps on my old Bold, but want to set-up this one nicely. I'm a college student (Business Econ, Pre-Law track), so keep that in mind with what apps you think I would like.
Anything else you can think of would be great also.
Thanks
