Question about inputting #'s

Just curious, how do you guys insert your numbers while texting, instant messaging, etc... I myself press the ALT button, then SHIFT button, then the number. Just wondering if there's a faster way to insert them? Or am I already doing it the most efficient/fastest way? Any info or would help, thanks

If you need to type a long string like a phone #, or account#, then alt+shift is the way to go. But if you are only typing a few, just press and hold alt while you type.

Ok yeah, that is faster and makes sense. I guess ive been doing it the longer way and got used to it haha
