I live in Jamaica where we normally get our BlackBerries from the US, either unlocked AT&T or T-Mobile BlackBerries. The problem I normally have is that the 3G doesn't work when we get T-Mobile BlackBerries because the bands are different. What I want to know is, with the 9900, would an AT&T 9900 have different 3G bands than a T-Mobile 9900? Its normally easier and cheaper to get an unlocked T-Mobile BlackBerry, so thats why I want to know.

I am not familiar with Claro. Do Claro's handsets (unlocked) work on Digicel's?

Yea. Claro 3G uses Band 5(850), but from what I'm seeing, no model of the 9900 uses that band?

    Yes, AT&T version of Bold 9900 have different 3G bands than T-Mobile branded 9900 3G bands. AT&T use 850/1900/2100, and T-Mobile use 900/1700/2100.

I think you must figure out what bands the phone operates on.

    My 9900 operates on 3G Bands 1, 4, 8
