How is the quality on their refurbs? I've received Verizon refurbs which were at times better than my original device. Is this the same in most cases for ATT? Certified like new and all?

Well I don't think ATT does the refurbishing, I assume they all get done by RIM so the quality should be the same across all carriers. However it might differ between models. I don't know of if the refurbishing is done at the several RIM production plants or if its done elsewhere.

They would have to be due to the fact that a refurb has to get re-inspected before being given to another customer.

I've had terrible luck with At&t refurbs, but that's just me. Others will swear by them. Just one of those things in life you take a risk on.

i've ordered a few refurbs for our department. one came and actually looked like somone just took it and wiped it clean on their tshirt. that one went back. all the other have been really good quality. even going back as far as the 8125's that we had gotten at one point as refurbs.

I saved money when I got my Bold refurb from ATT and it has given me 6 months of pain free service. Highly recommended!

I'm using a refurb Bold now that I got as a warranty replacement...and it works great. I had one previously that had a faulty trackball...but this one is fine.

Generally speaking, refurbs are better than new "off the line" phones simply because they get a more thorough inspection than the new ones.

I got a Curve 8310 refurb from AT&T. It looked brand new when I got it and worked fine for 6 months. I banged it mountain biking one day and one of the keys got stuck. I probably could have fixed it but if I did, I wouldn't have had an excuse to buy a new Bold.

I had some good things with old phones, but the Fuze they gave me was complete garbage.

Bought my wife a refurb 8330 for $30 about 1 1/2 years ago. No problems and she loves it. Couldn't beat the price either. I bought my Bold new.
