- whats this mean? i just came across this?...
the difference in processing speeds between tour 9630 and bold 9650 are as follows:
Tour 9630:
528mhz Arm11 main processor for os and apps
274mhz Arm 9 co-processor for modem
Bold 9650:
600mhz Arm11 main processor for os and apps
400mhz Arm9 co-processor for modem04-27-10 12:33 PMLike 0 - Great find! Do you have a link?

Theghost88 at twitter mentioned its a beast. You can't compare. We have to wait for people actually reporting back on the 512mb version before you can make such statements. They doubled the flash memory! what more do people expect? It has the most flash memory of any BB released until now!04-27-10 12:34 PMLike 0

- Thanks, found it. I'm not sure where he got this, but the comment was by edlivian, approximately 165 comments into the 6.0 discussion on the front page.
http://crackberry.com/blackberry-6-s...es-2010?page=404-27-10 12:42 PMLike 0 - If the 9650 has the 528mhz Qualcomm chipset...then it will clock roughly the same speeds as the 9630 (until OS 6 is released). If both devices have the same chipset, then the only thing that would make any difference in speed would be the onboard memory, OS version and maybe open GL, but here's the thing...
The average 9630 owner probably has roughly 100mb free if you account for OS, Apps...etc. The average 9650 user will probably have between 300-350mb free if you account for OS, Apps...etc. 100mb is enough memory for a 528mhz Qualcomm processor to run optimally, so if there is a difference in speed...it wont be by much (until OS 6 is released).04-27-10 12:50 PMLike 0 - whats this mean? i just came across this?...

How does it handle and manage the memory? The 9700 is OS6 ready due to the way it handles memory. Its different from the way a 9630 manages memory. So until we see some hands on reports from people that put the current 9650 to the test it all remains speculation. And I seriously doubt if the average user would notice any difference in the first place.
I literally just said a 9650 and a 9630 would run pretty much the same until OS 6 is released.04-27-10 01:03 PMLike 0 -
The extra speed with added mem would be a true upgrade in performance I would defiantly hop on.04-27-10 01:19 PMLike 0 - That's not necessarily the case. perhaps they have optimized the 5.0 os vrsion running on it in such a way that makes better use of the available memory. Still don't think the average user will notice this, if thats what you mean

04-27-10 01:22 PMLike 0 - I'm running a full Java .601 (9650 OS) hybrid right now...and there's no difference in internal memory managment.04-27-10 01:31 PMLike 0
- It's ok....but I haven't seen any version of 5.0 with what I would consider decent battery life. Sometimes I miss my Curve.04-27-10 02:08 PMLike 0
- Did I see that someone has access to a 9650 and its escreens?
If so, go to OS Engineering Screens / Battery / Core Frequency Screen.
This shows the time spent in different CPU speeds. (At least it does on the 9700.) In the top section, look for the highest speed. This should be the processor speed. (624MHz on the 9700)

here is the link..
Research In Motion BlackBerry Bold 9650 Specs, Features (Phone Scoop)04-28-10 07:36 AMLike 0 - they also have the internal memory listed at 317 mb.. but we all know it's 512 mb.. so yeah phonescoop is about as reliable as a flat tire04-28-10 08:41 AMLike 0
- they clearly said next to that though, thats whats left over after the OS is installed, which is true. 317 is roughly what we have to play with for apps. much better then roughly 100 left over on the Tour after the OS is installed04-28-10 08:44 AMLike 0
