So I was setting up my e-mail accounts on my new Bold 9930 and they will only setup as IMAP (which i don't want). On my old Storm2 I could set them up as POP. Some things I tried:

    • Went to my carriers BIS (Verizon) and tried but it would only setup as IMAP.
    • Removed the accounts and re-added them still no luck.
    • Tried changing the port to 110, no luck.
    • Changed imap.(myserver).com to pop.(myserver).com and still detected the server type as IMAP.

Just for those that will ask: YES I have checked and e-mail server IS capable of POP.

    Any help????

This info won't really help, but I just got off the phone with Rogers in regards to BIS. I wanted them to setup a Rogers BIS account for me so I could login and configure things from my computer instead of through the device, the rep told me that this was not possible nor necessary for the 9900 as RIM is getting away from BIS and everything will be handled over the device with the new Black Berry ID service.

Whether or not the web portal for Black Berry ID will be updated with any functionality is unclear to me at this point...
