    ok realized there were other threads on this but i really dont want to reinstall the os or whatever - how does the safe mode thing work?

    Did you try hooking your phone up to BB desktop mananger? Give this a try first to see if you can reinstall the OS.

    ok so i figured it out ... but blackberry protect (how i got all my data onto the phone in the first place) is not restoring as well as it did before... none of my contacts are showing back up.
